Cornell University invites applications and nominations for the position of the Dean of the Cornell Ann S. Bowers College of Computing and Information Science.
Reporting to the provost, the Bowers Dean will serve as the chief academic officer with primary oversight of three highly regarded departments that make up the college: computer science, information science, and statistics and data science. Bowers CIS is highly interdisciplinary with faculty and students in related departments across multiple colleges and at the Cornell campuses in Ithaca and New York City. The dean will support faculty in advancing the college’s world-class research, scholarship and impact while supporting its commitment to excellence in education. The dean will focus on advancing research productivity and funding, recruiting and empowering talented faculty and staff, supporting distinction in teaching and academic programs, and nurturing vital relationships across the university. The dean will also play a public leadership role with a variety of stakeholders and attract resources to further the mission of Bowers CIS.
